Cross of Agadez is mined in giant slabsHandmade in Timbuktu, this cross is a typical Tamashek symbol. Interpretations vary and different schools of thought trace the cross to ancient Egypt, and even early forms of Christianity. Other interpretations suggest that the cross means love, because of its similarity in appearance to the word love in the Tamashek alphabet of Tifinagh. Many who wear it believe it is a protective talisman. The necklace comes with a wax print pouch (see photo below).
